mit der Flöten sanften Ton

lobet Jesum Gottes Sohn.

Die Regalen blasen auf,

Spielen süsse Lieder drauf.

Setz’ die Zinken an den Mund,

lobe Jesum alle Stund’.

Rühren nicht die Vögelein

morgens früh ihr Züngelein?

So geschwind der Tag anbricht,

lassen sie das Danken nicht.

In des Tages letzter Stund’

aus dem wassertiefen Grund

spielen all’ die Vögelein

und dem Schöpfer dankbar sein.

Alles Wild auf grüner Heid’,

wenn es geht auf seiner Weid’,

so vertraut es seinem Gott,

der versorget seine Not.

Mensch, o Mensch, du Gottes Bild!

warum zeigst du dich so wild?

Sorgest nur dein Leben lang

vor die Kleider, Speis’ und Trank?

Denke doch an jenen Tag,

da man ewig leben mag,

mit den Kleidern angetan,

die niemand zuretten kann.

Dieser Kleider schönste Zier

schenket Jesus dir und mir,

um zu stehn für Gottes Thron,

wenn erscheint des Menschen Sohn.
